How can Jesus ‘death and resurrection’ save me?

Because Jesus is God

The death of Jesus paid the penalty for the sin, for He carried the sins of the whole mankind as He was crucified, and His resurrection proved that the He was the Son of God for He conquered death.

Jesus was representing the whole human race. Whatever God does have eternal and universal effects. Whatever God does is perfect and complete.
