Was the original Injeel lost?

What would be your response if I told you Shakespeare’s Hamlet was lost?

Injeel was written in Greek and was translated into many languages like Syriac, Slavic, Gothic, Coptic, Ethiopian, Nubian and Armenian. Injeel was used in worship and preaching in all those countries and languages as early as the second and third century. Currently we have 5800 Greek manuscripts, approximately 10000 Latin manuscripts and 9300 manuscripts in other languages. Moreover, we have 19368 quotes from Injeel by early church fathers available in written form. How can such an important and well-documented book be lost? How would God allow such an important message of salvation to be lost from humankind?

Let us compare other literature produced and preserved in antiquity. Only 8 copies of Herodotus’ “History”, 7 copies of Plato’s works and 5 copies of Aristotle’s “Poetics” are currently available. Interestingly we don’t have complete manuscripts of even one of the plays written by Shakespeare.
